Painting the mist rolling through the mountains or the late summer sun glinting off the water - these are reminders that nature is ever changing - just like the weather
A series of 6 projects in watercolor for Intermediate to Advanced level watercolor artists. The Series is built of projects which train the eye to see the world as an artist and to bring that vision to life through watercolor.
Projects are structured to progress through simple challenges to more complex projects. Throughout the series I focus on Design and Composition - understanding what you want to say before you pick up the brush, then, developing the technical aspect of watercolor through drills and studies. My goal is to entice the student to think a bit before painting”. The weekly projects immerse the student in a single theme which eventually leads to an ability to improvise with brush and paint.
Classes are 2..5 hours - presented in a combination live/video format over Zoom - documented in depth with pdf files, source materials, and further reading. A review of student work is a new feature during which I review and mark up of selected works. The videos and reviews are posted on the web so that enrolled students may review and re-visit as often as they like.
